OCTOBER FAVOURITES!!

Wednesday, 30 October 2013

Hey guys! Between you and me lets just pretend that there hasn't been a massive gap in between my posts. Sorry!

Anyway lets get into the products I have been loving this month!!

Lets begin with MAC Studio Fix powder in NC30
This product has been a lifesaver for me because right now I am between foundations. I either have foundations that are too light or too dark. Don't ask me why, I have no idea. So it is very annoying but I have to mix foundations together to get a colour that is right for me. This powder really helps me out if my foundation still looks a little pale. Because it is a couple of shades darker than my skin colour it adds the perfect amount of colour to my face. It also, supposedly, adds a little bit of coverage. I don't notice it that much but it's better than nothing.

Next my new all time favourite brush is the Napoleon Perdis Foundation/Buffing Brush
This brush is AMAZING! It is a flat top kabuki style of brush, however unlike many brushes of that style it quite small. This is not a problem for me but I would like to try a larger brush of the same type. This brush is so good because like the name suggests it is great at buffing. Sometimes with many foundation brushes, especially if they are dirty, leave your foundation looking streaky on the skin. This brush even if it is not freshly clean does not leave your skin streaky, it is just great. I have looked on the Napoleon Perdis website and this exact brush is no longer available however there are other brushes of this style available.

Next is Maybelline EyeStudio black eyeliner
I have had this eyeliner for a very long time, however I have been using liquid liners lately, just to practice. Now I have gone back to using gel because I find this method mush easier. Considering the amount of time I have had this eyeliner, the quality has not faded and this is very impressive. I apply this with an angled eyeliner brush and it works really well. I would recommend this product to any eyeliner lover, even beginners.

Next is Benefit's Hoola Bronzer
This bronzer is a very popular product amongst the beauty community online. It is a dark, matte bronzer that works on my skin with or without a tan. I know some people think this is too dark to wear on pale skin, but I think it really warms up my face when my skin is pale.

Lastly I have two eyeshadow palettes:
Firstly I have the Inglot Freedom Palette
I love the whole idea of the freedom systems and I also love Inglot shadows. I know these shadows do not really go well together but they were just colour that I really wanted to get in a good quality shadow. My favourite colours are the white highlight colour and the shimmery silver. The pigmentation of these colours are great and I would definitely recommend Inglot shadows. However I believe some of their shadows don't have the pigmentation of others, so if you can go to a store and swatch them.

Secondly I have the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
Ahhh this palette is a must for any girl, whether you are a makeup lover or not, you will appreciate this palette. This palette is full of matte, wearable everyday shades. Except for Venus the lightest highlight colour that is a demi-matte shade. The black in this palette is the darkest black I have ever used and it is great for creating a dark smokey eye. All the colours have great pigmentation and are great for both everyday or for building up a darker eye look. I highly, highly, highly recommend this palette!!!! It is not available in Australian stores, only online. A popular website is for Urban Decay products is beautybay.com

Thank you for reading and will now be posting every week again because I have finally finished my last year of uni, YAY!!

ps. A little reminder that NYX cosmetics is now being sold in some Target stores all around Australia, so head to your local store to check it out. The prices are more expensive than online however it is great to go in store and swatch the products. Target has a deal on at the moment where you can save $10 when you spend over $50. So I am definitely going to take advantage of this on some NYX products later today!!
