This is the set. As you can see there is a variety of face and eye brushes. This is the perfect set of brushes for anyone beginning with makeup or someone who is looking for some brushes to make their makeup application easier. I bought these brushes just to try them out, not thinking that I seriously needed them as I already have a lot of brushes. However, after receiving them and trying them out I realised that some of these brushes are unique and I find myself reaching for them every time I do my makeup.
The first brush in the set is the Multi-Task Brush, which on the package is described as being "for effortless application of powder, blush or bronzer." I have only used this brush for setting powder. For me, personally, it is quite large and the thought of applying blush and bronzer with it scares me. However in saying that I think it would be quite good at blending blush and bronzer out. Also if you enjoy bronzing rather than contouring like me then I think this brush would work really well.
Next is the Buffing Brush which is described as "ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation." I have fallen in love with this brush and it has helped change the way I look at powder foundation. I used to use MAC Studio Fix Powder as a setting powder only, to add more coverage to my foundation. Some lazy days I used to brush some powder on my face but it never really gave me any coverage. However I know realise that it wasn't the powder not being able to provide the coverage it was the brush I was trying to apply it with. This brush picks up so much product and evenly distributes it on the face.
The next brush is the Pointed Foundation Brush which it is advised to "use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage." This brush does things that you could do with a regular foundation brush, however its size is what really makes it great. Like the setting brush, its size allows it to be very precise and easy to use. I use this for concealer under the eye, nose and defining the eyebrow. I guess you could say that I use this brush for concealer rather than foundation. I do see how you could build coverage with foundation however I feel it is more useful with concealer.
The last two brushes are eye brushes that are good, however not very unique. These brushes help to complete the set which makes it a great all-round set for beginners. However if you have many brushes keep in mind that you probably already own brushes that perform the same task as the next two brushes. The first of the two eye brushes is the Essential Crease Brush which is described as "soft, tapered design for effortless contouring." The one thing that does stand out with this brush is that it is small in size. This means you have more control and it is great for smaller eyes.
Lastly is the Fine Liner Brush which is described as the "ultimate tool for precision application of liquid or cream eyeliner." This brush does the job, but I'm still getting use to using this type of brush for eyeliner. I am used to using an angled eyeliner brush to apply cream eyeliner. I like the thin brush which makes it easy to handle. However. having not using many brushes like this I can't compare how well it works with other brushes.
Ultimately I think this brush set is great and for the price it is definitely worth the money, if not more! I am a huge lover of Real Technique brushes because they are mostly unique and high end quality for drugstore prices. I hope this has introduced you to different types of brushes and inspired to play with your makeup!
